Awarded for services to business incubation

The Tiruchi Regional Engineering College Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Park (TREC-STEP) is one of the prominent business incubation centres in the country.

While the institution's role in fostering entrepreneurs has already been well recognised in industry circles, its Executive Director, R.M.P. Jawahar, has been recently awarded the International Champion of Business Incubation for the year 2006 by the United Kingdom Business Incubation (UKBI).

The UKBI is an apex body for business incubation in the U.K. .

The award has been conferred on Mr. Jawahar in recognition of his services rendered to the cause of business incubation in India. The award was presented during the UK Business Incubation's eighth annual conference on `Sustainable features' held at Birmingham on November 20.
