Staff Correspondent
Belgaum: Deputy Commissioner Shalini Rajneesh has appealed to various women organisations to play "host" to the guests attending the three-day World Kannada Meet in Belgaum during next month. Addressing representatives of women organisations, including women self-help groups here on Thursday, she appreciated the offer by several organisations to provide accommodation and food to the visiting guests in their houses. However, she advised them to submit details of accommodation, which could be a Samudaya Bhavan or residential premises in the prescribed format for administrative convenience. One family is expected to play host to at least two persons. A museum would be opened on the vaccine depot premises in Tilakwadi. It would showcase various art forms, including paintings and handicrafts. There would be special exhibition of hand-made products or home products made by women during the meet which would start on February 23.
