VIJAYAWADA: Delhi garnered two points by gaining the first innings lead of 146 runs by bundling out host Andhra for 209 in the Super League Group `A' Ranji Trophy match at the IGMC Stadium here on Thursday. At stumps, Delhi was 160 for three.

Delhi skipper Mithun Manhas (86 batting, 88b, 10x4, 1x6) along with Sikhar Dhawan (53 batting, 118b, 3x4) led the fightback in the second innings.

Belligerent knock

Manhas played a belligerent innings and the massive six off off-spinner Mohammed Faiq over long off was a treat to watch. Peeved at the negative bowling of leg-spinner Kishore, Manhas changed to a left-hander for a while.

Andhra pacemen Shahabuddin and Kalyan Krishna bowled their heart out to put Delhi in a spot of bother, but Manhas and Shikar consolidated Delhi's position with an unbeaten 136-run stand.

Resuming at 92 for four, Andhra lost Rv. Ch. Prasad early for a loose stroke and it was the 67-run whirlwind sixth-wicket partnership between Shahabuddin (50, 68b, 4x4, 1x6) and opener L.N. Prasad Reddy (71 not out, 259b, 9x4), which helped it save the follow on.
