Cardiological Society 's meet in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The city will host the 59th annual conference of Cardiological Society of India from December 5 to 9, 2007.

K. Sarat Chandra, organising secretary of the society, told reporters here on Thursday that over 5,000 delegates, including cardiologists and physicians, from all over India and SAARC nations besides the US, Europe, Israel and other Asian countries were expected to participate in the conference.

He said that multiple symposia would discuss latest treatment of coronary artery disease, current status of drug-eluting stents, significance of epidemic of coronary artery disease in India and recent modalities of investigations for heart diseases. Special emphasis would be laid on preventive cardiology and research on epidemic of coronary artery disease in the conference.

Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) director D. Prasada Rao said that the NIMS would extend all its support to the success of the conference.
