Padmini beats Aaroshi

KOZHIKODE: Padmini Rout, top seed in the girls' section, made short work of Aaroshi Bansal in the opening round of the National under-17 chess championship here on Thursday.

In the boys' section, Ashish Kumar received a walkover from the No. 1 seed, G. Rohit.
