ANANTAPUR: Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly K.R. Suresh Reddy participated in several development programmes in the district on Wednesday. He laid foundation stones for Rs. 280 crores HUDCO-funded drinking water project near Hulkuru in Amarapuram mandal. He also laid stone for construction of 16 additional classrooms taken up with Rs. 48.5 lakhs NABARD funds in the Zilla Parishad High School at Amarapuram mandal headquarters. Speaking at a meeting, the Speaker said Andhra Pradesh was first in the implementation of development schemes as part of Bharat Nirman programme announced by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The State Government had taken up several measures to revive the derailed rural economy.
