HASSAN: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy made it clear on Thursday that there was no question of withdrawing amendment to the APMC Act. It was being implemented at the insistence of the Centre. He told presspersons in Channaraypatna today that all other States had implemented it and Centre wanted to know there was delay in implementing the same in the State. On the proposed "bandh" called by the Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FKCCI) on Friday, the Chief Minister said farmers were aware of the exploitation made by the merchants and middlemen. Farmers were misled by them.
Pune conference
The Chief Minister said all the MLAs would discuss the unspent funds of previous budget, proposals to be included in the new budget and party organisation at the conference in Pune. He said the Ministry would be expanded after their return. On the resignation of Wakfs Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan from the Ministry, Mr. Kumaraswamy said it would have no impact and that there were enough candidates in the party to fill the slot.
