Educate people about schemes, doctors told

  • Committee to be formed for recruitment of nurses

    HASSAN: Minister for Public Works and Energy H.D. Revanna, who is Hassan district in-charge Minister, advised doctors to educate people particularly in rural areas on health facility available at government hospitals as the State Government and the Centre launched a number of schemes for providing healthcare to rural people.

    Mr. Revanna was inaugurating "Rastreeya Gramina Arogya Abhiyan" at zilla panchayat meeting hall in Hassan on Wednesday. The programme was organised by the District Health and Family Welfare Department.

    Mr. Revanna promised to take up with Health Minister and Chief Minister the issue of filling the vacancies of doctors in primary health centres and taluk hospitals. About recruiting nurses, he said a recruitment committee would be formed under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner.

    The Minister advised the District Health Officer Nagaraja Rao to conduct health camps at the taluk level and create awareness on the facilities available in government hospitals.

    Minister for Women and Child Development H.K. Kumar Swamy asked the health officer to strengthen hospitals and primary health centres to provide quality treatment at the hobli level.

    Hassan Zilla Panchayat president H. Annappa Shetty said clean environment and safe drinking water should be provided.

    Hassan MLA H.S. Prakash, zilla panchayat vice-president Kamakshi Raju, and Deputy Commissioner K.H. Aswathanarayana Gowda, were present.
