Retired judge passes away

CHENNAI:
A retired Judge of the Madras High Court, S. Padmanabhan, died here on Thursday morning. He was 85.
Appointed Judge of the High Court in 1978, Mr. Justice Padmanabhan retired from service in September 1983.
After his superannuation, he was appointed commissioner of the Alwarpet Benefit Fund (ABF) by the High Court. He was actively involved in the process of repayment of money to the depositors of the company. He is survived by two sons and a daughter.
His father, K. Sankarasubbaiyar, was a Judge of the Travancore High Court, his family members said.
