DEHRA DUN: "The ruling Congress in Uttarakhand is seeking a vote on the development activities it ushered in during the past five years and we are sure of being returned in the February elections as the masses are more than happy with the performance of the Narain Dutt Tiwari Government', the party in charge of the State, Motilal Vora has said. Addressing an election rally at Pauri, Mr. Vora asked the voters to consider the vast development activities introduced by the Congress and not get swayed by the Bharatiya Janata Party propaganda as the saffron brigade had re-dedicated itself to the communal agenda. Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Harish Rawat said the time had come for the people to decide between development and communal passions. "The BJP could not even play the role of a responsible Opposition during the past five years and dreams of grabbing power this time. How can that be possible as the people are questioning their role in the development process?" he said. The BJP, on the other hand, seems to be making serious efforts to reach out to the remotest voter. "We will expose the corrupt deeds of the Congress and convince the voter to vote for us," said former Union Minister Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri at a separate election meeting.
