A lot more in store at police celebrations
The Chennai City Police, which is celebrating its 150th year, is offering just more than exhibitions or gaiety.
The organisers have arranged seminars on key topics like "emerging traffic issues" and "challenges of cyber crime in metro cities" in which veteran professionals from various walks of life will address participants.
A senior officer, in-charge of the seminar arrangements, said apart from exhibits of rare photographs of the city police since its inception and the screening of a documentary film, the organisers felt that interaction on issues like traffic management was required. The seminar is to be held at the State Crime Records Bureau conference hall, Raja Annamalaipuram. Viswath, Director of Engineering Services and Project, Greater Mumbai; A. K. Khan, Additional Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad; M.N. Reddy, Additional Commissioner (Traffic), Bangalore; Ashok Dohare, Inspector General of Police, Madhya Pradesh; Krishna P. Shastri, Assistant Government Examiner, Cyber Forensic Division, Hyderabad and experts from IIT Madras will address participants.
