Guntur Mayor hurt in accident

GUNTUR: Guntur Mayor Kanna Nagaraju had a miraculous escape with minor injuries in a major road accident on the outskirts of Thadepalligudem on Thursday .

Mayor Nagaraju, who was travelling in his Scorpio van from Guntur to Visakhapatnam along with a gunman M. Kamalakar, sustained minor injuries to his head and leg at Arugulani Prathpadu on the National Highway No.5 bypass road when a lorry came on to the highway and dashed against the vehicle.

The gunman also received injuries on the leg and head when their vehicle was severely damaged in the mishap.

Both of them were rushed to the Thadepalligudem for first aid and later they proceeded to Visakhapatnam, the family sources said here in Guntur.

There was nothing to worry about the health of the Mayor and his gunman they said and initially they wanted to bring them to Guntur for treatment, were shifted to Visakhapatnam later.
