Ayurveda Medical Association meeting

Kochi: The Ayurveda Medical Association of India will be holding the 27th State conference at Angamaly from Saturday. The State committee building of the association will be inaugurated by P.K. Sreemathy, Minister for Health, at CSA Hall on Saturday evening. Lonappan Nambadan, MP, will inaugurate the two-day meeting in the morning. — Staff Reporter

Two more Macta units

Kochi: The Macta Federation, umbrella of film artistes and technicians, has recognised two units under the name Macta Dancers Union and Macta Junior Artistes Contractors Union. At a meeting on Wednesday, the general council of the Macta recognised these units, taking the number of trade unions under it to 18. — Staff Reporter

Vote bank politics alleged

KOCHI: BJP president P.K. Krishnadas has alleged that the CPI(M) took up the Saddam issue with an eye on the Muslim vote bank and to divert the attention of the people from the party's internal problems. He was addressing a meeting of the Minority Morcha here on Thursday. He also said the Congress was pursuing a policy of appeasement of minorities. — Staff Reporter
