Dual source CT system installed

CHENNAI: Siemens Medical Solutions has installed Somatom Definition, the world's first dual source computerised tomography (CT) system at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. The system, inaugurated by Erich Reinhardt, CEO and President, Siemens Medical Solutions, has a unique configuration of two X-ray sources and two sets of detectors and has speeded up the acquisition time for cardiac imaging by over 100 per cent as compared to single source based CT scanners, says a release.
