KNOXVILLE: Seven months after disappearing from its yard in Colorado, a rat terrier turned up here, 2,000 km away.

Thanks to the efforts of Tracie Crass, who found two-year-old Daisy wandering outside her home, it got an airplane ride home. She spotted Daisy on the road on Christmas night. She took it on and waited for its owner to come looking for it.

When no one showed up, Ms. Crass telephoned the number on Daisy's rabies inoculation tag. She reached Daisy's veterinarian, who contacted the owner — Vonda Lundstrom.
