Kozhikode: A civic reception `Amritotsavam 2007' will be accorded to Mata Amritanandamayi at the Corporation Stadium here on Saturday. About two lakh people from four districts, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Malappuram, are expected to participate in the programme at 6 p.m. The programme includes `Bhaktiganasudha,' speech by Mata, and meditation and darshan to devotees. Minister for Electricity A.K. Balan, Minister for Forest Benoy Viswom, film actor Balachandra Menon and Soorya Krishnamurthi will be present at the function. `Amrita prasadam,' a souvenir, will be released at the function. A pension for the destitute and sewing machines will be distributed. Mata will also inaugurate the Amrithasree Self-Help Group (SHG) on the occasion.
