Traffic to be regulated

Kozhikode: Vehicular traffic will be regulated in the city on Saturday in view of `Amritotsavam 2007,' a reception to be accorded to Mata Amritanandamayi at 6 p.m. at the Corporation Stadium.

Buses starting from the Palayam bus station will be diverted through Link Road to pass through Railway Station Road, Oyitty Road, HPO Junction, YMCA Cross Road, Mavoor Road Junction and I.G. Road.

On their return journey to the bus station, the vehicles can use the normal route from Poonthanam Junction to M.M.Ali Road.

Four-wheelers and six-wheelers will not be allowed on YMCA Cross Road and Wayanad Road in the afternoon.

Kannur and Vadakkara-bound buses starting from the Mofussil bus station should take the Rajaji Road, Mavoor Road, C.H. Flyover, Beach road and Vengali route. Buses proceeding to Atholi, Balussery and Koilandy regions should take the Rajaji Road, Mavoor Road, C.H. Flyover route and proceed through Kannur Road.

City buses plying to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital have been exempted from the regulation. But they will have to take the Kannur Road, YMCA Cross Road and Mavoor Road route. No vehicles will be allowed to ply through Ram Mohan Road.

Vehicles carrying devotees have been given instructions to adhere to strict parking regulations. Vehicles coming from Feroke, Ramanattukara and Malappuram should drop the devotees near the Comtrust Eye Hospital and park the vehicles at Thondayad Bypass.

Vehicles coming from Mavoor areas should pass through Arayadathupalam and drop the devotees at Comtrust Eye Hospital and then proceed through Kuthiravattom to park the vehicles at Thondayad Bypass.

Vehicles coming form North should drop the devotees on the western side of the C.H. Flyover Junction and park the vehicles on Beach road.
