PUDUCHERRY: The Central Bureau Investigation has registered a case against a senior Government official and his son for allegedly entering into criminal conspiracy so as to cheat a private general insurance company, according to sources in the CBI's Chennai office The case has been filed against V. Veeraraghavan, Deputy Director, Local Administration Department, and his son Karunakaran. Three others, Ganeshan, owner of a driving school, Arokiadass and Muthukumar have also been included in the case. The case was registered on December 29 under several sections of Indian Penal Code, including 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act for misusing the official position, forging documents and cheating, sources said. After registering the case a CBI team came to Puducherry on Thursday and interrogated all the accused and searched the house of Mr. Veeraraghavan and Mr. Ganeshan. Sources said they had seized some documents related to the case.
