Irinjalakuda emerges champions in youth fete

Thrissur West and East win second and third positions

WINNING ACCOLADES: The team from Sreekrishna Higher Secondary School, Ananthapuram, which won the first prize in Koodiyattom in the Thrissur Revenue District Schools Youth Festival on Friday.

THRISSUR: Irinjalakuda sub-district won the overall championship in the high school section of the Revenue District Schools Youth Festival here on Friday, scoring 537 points.

Thrissur West and East sub-districts came second and third with 464 and 457 points respectively. In the upper primary section too, Irinjalakuda (207 points) won the championship. Chavakkad and Thrissur West were in the second and third positions, with 205 and 203 points respectively.

Irinjalakuda (226 points), Thrissur West (215 points) and Chavakkad (205 points) were the toppers of the Samskritotsavam (high school). In the upper primary section of Samskritotsavam, Irinjalakuda (218 points), Chavakkad (201 points) and Thrissur West (197 points) had the top scores. Valappad and Irinjalakuda shared the overall championship in the Arabi Kalotsavam (high school) with 165 points. Mulassery and Kodungallur were in the second position, scoring 156 points. Chavakkad came third with 154 points. In the upper primary section of Arabi Kalotsavam, Valappad won the championship, with a tally of 117 points. Kodungallur and Irinjalakuda came second and third, with 108 and 99 points respectively.

Malayalam elocution: Swathy Suresh, Nattika East U. P. School, Valapad.

Group music (UP): LFCHSS, Irinjalakuda.

Elocution (Hindi): Joju Sebastian, Don Bosco HSS, Irinjalakuda.

Drama (High School): St. Paul's CEHSS, Kuriachira.

Thullal (HS): Sharon, St. Joseph's HS, Mathilakom.

Ganamela: Holy Family CGHS, Chembukkavu.

Mappilapattu (PPTI festival): K.B. Neethu, Vidya PPTTI, Ollur.

Monoact (PPTTI): K.P. Priya, Vidya PPTTI, Ollur.

Light music (PPTTI): V.V. Ambili, Vidya PPTTI, Ollur.

Monoact (TTI): M.V. Surya, Mar Osthatheos TTI, Chavakkad.
