ER wins snooker title

HYDERABAD: Eastern Railway won the snooker team championship in the all-India Railway snooker and billiards championship that concluded at RRC Grounds here on Friday.

Kamal Chawla of Western Railway won the individual snooker title while Ashok Shandilya of Central Railway won the billiards event.

The final placings: Team championship: Billiards: 1. Central Railway, 2. Eastern, 3. South Central. Snooker: 1. Eastern, 2. Southern, 3. Western.

Individual events: Billiards: 1. Ashok Shandilya (CR), 2. K. Venkatesham (SCR). Snooker: 1. Kamal Chawla (WR), 2. Ashok Shandilya (CR).

8-ball team event: 1. Southern, 2. Central, 3. Western. 9-ball team event: 1. Western, 2. Eastern, 3. Central. 8-ball individual: 1. S. Jagtiani (ER), 2. Rafat Habib (SR). 9-ball individual: 1. S. Jagtiani (ER), 2. Ashok Shandilya (CR). Highest breaks: Billiards: Ashok Shandilya (206). Snooker: Faisal Khan (62).
