Pulse Polio programme from January 7

Gulbarga: Oral polio drops will be administered to 5.27 lakh children during the four-day Pulse Polio programme here from January 7.

Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pandey told presspersons here on Friday that 2,254 centres would be set up across the district to administer oral polio drops. Volunteers would visit houses to administer oral polio drops for three days from January 8. Around 2,098 teams would visit houses, apart from 140 transit teams and 16 mobile squads.

Mr. Pandey asked the officials to be more vigilant in the wake of five cases of polio reported in Maharashtra. He appealed to parents to bring their children to the centres. Zilla panchayat Chief Executive Officer P.C. Jaffer, Polio Surveillance Officer Anil Talikoti, District Health Officer Nalini Namoshi, and District Surgeon P. Susheela were present.
