Srinivas wins

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K. Srinivas (Hyderabad) and Suruchi (Bihar) won the boys and girls' titles respectively in the sub-junior section of the 34th sub-junior National carrom championship at the Muslim Association Hall here on Friday.

The result: Boys: Final: K. Srinivas (Hyd) bt Tamil Selvan (TN) 25-10, 15-25, 25-24. Semifinals: Tamil Selvan (TN) bt Umar Tanveer (UP) 15-25, 25-11, 25-13; K. Srinivas (Hyd) bt Mohd Adil (UP) 25-24, 25-23.

Cadet Boys: final: Shahbaz Akthat (UP) bt A. Pawan (AP) 25-24, 25-3. Semifinals: A. Pawan (AP) bt Vishal (UP) 17-25, 25-08, 25-3; Shehbaz Akhtar (UP) bt V.R. Venkiteswaran (TN) 8-25, 25-23, 23-25, 25-12.

Girls: Final: Suruchi (Bih) bt Deepika (Bih) 6-25, 25-14, 25-6. Semifinals: Deepika (Bih) bt Sarayu (TN) 25-7, 25-11; Suruchi (Bih) bt M.S.K. Harika (AP) 25-22, 25-15.
