Exhibition of farm produces gets under way

PATHANAMTHITTA: Archbishop Issac Mar Cleemis inaugurated the floral decoration and flower arrangement contests held as part of the flower show, Pushpotsav-2007, organised by the Horticulture Development Society at the Public Stadium in Thiruvalla on Friday.

The Archbishop said the flower show and cultural programmes would help strengthen human bonds and promote social harmony.

He also inaugurated the exhibition of agriculture produces.

Society vice-president K.K. Somashekhara Pillai presided.

Office-bearers Sam Eapen, T.K. Sajeev, Roji Kattasserry, E.A. Elias, K.P. Rajagopala Pillai, Saji Chalakkuzhy, Litty Cherian, T. James, Valsamma John and Omana Samuel also spoke.

The cultural competitions for children will be held on Saturday afternoon.

A cultural meet will be held at 5 p.m.

P.J. Kurien, MP, will inaugurate the valedictory function on January 8 afternoon.

Thiruvalla Dy.SP Philipose Abraham, R.K. Nair, Mr. Chalakkuzhy and Mr. Kattasserry will address the function.

Prasad Thomas Kodiyatt will preside over the meet.
