Water supply to be affected today

NEW DELHI: Water supply will be available at low pressure in some parts of the Capital on Saturday due to annual flushing of overhead tanks and underground reservoirs. The affected areas

include Bapa Nagar,

Tank Road, Dev Nagar, Rehgarpura, C-8 Sector-18 Rohini, BB (W) Block Shalimar Bagh, Nehru Apartments and Krishnagarh MGD Flats.

The Delhi Jal Board has advised residents of these areas to store water in advance. Tankers will be available on telephone

New president for Computer Society

NEW DELHI: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Vice-Chancellor K. K. Aggarwal has been elected president of the Computer Society of

India.

Prof. Aggarwal, an IT expert, will take charge

on April 1. He has earlier served as sectional president of the IT section of the Indian Science Congress Association and president of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers.

Volunteers of Nehru Brigade visit Noida

NEW DELHI: Led by former Delhi Deputy Mayor Ramesh Dutta, volunteers of Nehru Brigade on

Friday visited Nithari village in Noida and expressed sympathy

with the families of the victims of the gruesome incident.

The volunteers promised all help to the families

of the victims and

handed over a memorandum presented by the women of the village

to a senior police officer. Mr. Dutta demanded that the accused in the case be

given capital punishment.

Programme on road safety

NEW DELHI: A national awareness programme on road safety education was organised by Bhagidari

Jan Sahyog Samiti in collaboration with Guru Gobind Singh University

at Talkatora Indoor Stadium here on Friday.

The programme,

supported by the Delhi Government's Social Welfare Department,

was inaugurated by eminent writer S. S. Shashi. About 500 community workers and representatives from non-government organisations took part in the event.
