CHENNAI: The Madras High Court on Friday stayed the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) probe into the alleged police attack on a practising advocate, who accidentally dashed against a woman constable in Coimbatore.

The First Bench, comprising Chief Justice A.P. Shah and Justice K. Chandru, the Bench expressed its anguish at the incident and stayed the RDO inquiry, scheduled to begin on January 9. The Home department has been asked to file its reply by January 29, when the matter is posted for further hearing.
