CHENNAI: The much-awaited bilingual film `Guru', directed by Mani Ratnam, will release in Chennai next week. The movie features Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Madhavan, Mithun Chakraborthy and Vidya Balan and is slated for a Pongal release. It is the story of a boy who dreams of making it big and achieves his goals. The first show, a charity screening to raise funds for the Shakti Foundation, will be on January 11 at 6.30 p.m. at Sathyam Cinemas. The foundation is a Chennai-based non-governmental organisation that works for the physically-challenged. Shakti Foundation is identified with the Adhiparasakthi medical and research hospital and works for the rural poor, offering them free treatment. It has collaborated with the Government to create awareness about the need for making all buildings and constructions disabled friendly ramps in all public buildings, separate parking for the physically challenged and toilet facilities. Donor passes are available at the Foundation (9, Manickeswari Road, Kilpauk). For details, call 26611213, 9840036993 and 9940032993.
