Immunisation booths in railway stations

CHENNAI: Southern Railway is setting up 214 pulse polio immunisation booths in major railway stations, colonies, and railway hospitals/health units on January 7 (also January 8 and 9), as part of an intensified pulse polio programme.

According to K. Kumar, Chief Medical Director, vaccine will be administered to children, below 5 years, of railwaymen and travellers. Arrangements were made to man the booths by volunteers of St. John's Ambulance Brigade, Scouts and Guides and Health Promotion Council members.
