Chaos at press conference

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: There was near stampede at the Bangalore Police Commissioner's office on Friday as over 50 media cameramen and photographers vied with one another to take pictures of arms and ammunition that the police had seized from a suspected terrorist.

During a media conference, the police had displayed an AK-47 assault rifle, ammunition, grenades and other articles on a table on the platform at Conference Hall of the Police Commissioner's office.

As the Director-General and Inspector-General of Police K.R. Srinivasan and Commissioner of Police Neelam Achuta Rao were having a look at the displayed items, lensmen rushed to the platform.

As the platform was crowded beyond capacity, the cameramen jostled all those, including some IPS officers, who came in their way of shooting pictures.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Bipin Gopalkrishna was heard shouting at the photographers not to use flash while taking pictures of the explosives as a mere flash could trigger an explosion.
