Ayyappa devotee killed

VIRUDHUNAGAR : An Ayyappa devotee from Tiruvarur was killed and another 12 others injured in a road accident near here on Friday.

The van, in which they were travelling, collided with a State-run bus on the Madurai-Srivilliputtur Highway at Nathampatti. The deceased is identified as K. Rajendran (35) of Veppencheri in Tiruvarur. Among the injured are two eight-year-old girls, Malathi and Shanthi Priya, and a old woman, Sarada (60). The bus was proceeding to Madurai from Shencottah, when the accident occurred.
