VIJAYAWADA: The prime accused in last year's serial killings at Rudrakshapalli village of Khammam district, Tatiparti Rama Rao, escaped from Nuzvid Sub-Jail, where he was lodged as an undertrial, in broad daylight on Saturday. His co-accused Gunja Yesobu also managed to escape in the jail-break, which created a sensation here. District SP Murugesh Kumar Singh visited the jail and heard first-hand account of the incident from the jail staff. A hunt was immediately launched to nab the accused. The SP announced suspension of Agiripalli Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police K.S.R. Murthy and four constables for "dereliction of duty".
