Madikeri: Two teams from Kodagu will take part in the "Suvarna Kreedotsava" sports meet, involving rural sports and games, scheduled to be held in Belgaum from January 19 to 21, coinciding with the World Kannada meet. The events include the popular "chinni-dandu," "buguri," "kesarugadde vota," "kambala," "lagori," "kabaddi," "kuntebille aata," "kanna muchale'" and "moorukalina vota" among others, according to a press release said here on Saturday. A meeting concerning this was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Subodh Yadav.
Demonstration
The "kreedotsava" will not involve competitions, but only demonstration of the skills of youth. The taluk-level kreedotsava would be organised here by January 15, Mr. Yadav said. He appealed to the youth of the district to evince interest in the events to make it a success.
