`All The Best' to be staged abroad again

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: The typical humour of Kannadigas is going overseas along with the best of cuisine the region is famous for, courtesy MTR Foods.

A humour play is to be staged at Doha and Muscat, in the United Arab Emirates, on January 11 and 18 respectively. The play titled "All The Best" has been staged 400 times already and earned a name for itself in the popular drama circuit. It has been adapted from Marathi and directed by Yeshwant Sirdeshpande of Hubli, who has now made Bangalore his home.

The theme revolves around three young men, one hearing impaired and the other two speech and visually impaired, falling in love with the same girl and their escapades. The Indian Community Benevolent Fund, based in Doha has organised the event there on January 11 and part of the ticket sales will help Indians facing deportation for various reasons and for rehabilitation of juvenile offenders locally. The show at Muscat is supported by the Kannada Sangha there.

Mr. Yeshwant says: "Though we have a new cast we are bringing back the original actors who made the play so popular, for this tour. This is the first time that we are trying the concept of humour and healthy food abroad."
