IN FULL BLOOM: A visitor at the .flower show in Bhubaneswar.
BHUBANESWAR: It's a riot of colours with the festival of flowers. And a feast for the eyes. The sprawling green lawns of the Regional Plant Resource Centre (RPRC) has literally been transformed into a gigantic garden of plants and flowers where the city folks have started flocking in large numbers. The much awaited State level annual flower festival has just kicked off here. Being hosted by the Plant Lovers' Association of Bhubaneswar (PLAB) for the 19th year, it is the only event of its kind in the State that has generated rave response from the people over the years.
Wide range
Organised in association with the RPRC for the third consecutive year, the two-day show has showcased a wide range of plants and flowers received from 25 institutions and 61 individuals. The collection, include cut rose, cut flowers, potted flowering plants, potted foliage plants, bonsai, cactus, group display and potted vegetables. ``Anthurium plants and Jerbera flowers have been our unique additions this year,'' claimed PLAB president Priti Mohapatra. A number of nurseries and retail dealers of garden accessories and plant nutrients have set up counters at the venue.
