Dattatreya constitutes 25-member BJP State committee

Newly constituted body to meet on January 9

HYDERABAD: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president Bandaru Dattatreya on Saturday appointed office-bearers to the State committee.

Stating that the new committee would work for strengthening of the party to provide an alternative in the State, Mr. Dattatreya said that the newly constituted body would meet at Shyamaprasad Mookerji Bhavan here on January 9.

The party would discuss the acute power shortage in the State, farmers' problems, land scams and other important issues.

Office-bearers

The office-bearers are: vice-presidents - Venkateswara Chowdary (industrialist, Chittoor); D. K. Samarasimha Reddy (former Minister, Mahbubnagar); Gujjula Ramakrishna Reddy (former MLA, Karimanagar), Naresh (movie artiste, Anantapur); Chintala Ramachandra Reddy (Hyderabad); and Challapalli Narasimha Reddy (farmers' leader, Chittoor).

General secretaries - K. Laxman (former MLA, Hyderabad); Somu Veerraju (farmers' leader, East Godavari); Chinta Samba Murthy (former member of National Commission for SCs, Nalgonda); and Ravindra Raju.

Treasurer - Yadlapati Raghunatha Babu (industrialist, Guntur)

Secretaries: N.V.V.S. Prabhakar (Ranga Reddy); A. Govardhan (Medak); V. Jhansi Rani (Mahbubnagar); Suresh Reddy (Nellore); Bheem Rao (Ranga Reddy); Ranga Mohan (Visakhapatanam).

Finance committee chairman - Baddam Bal Reddy (former MLA, Hyderabad);

Official spokesmen - Rajeswara Rao (former MLC, Warangal); K. Balakondaiah (former DIG, Nellore) and N. Ramachandra Rao (member, Bar council of AP, Hyderabad)

Morch presidents: Dalit morcha - Paka Raja Rao (Vizianagaram); Mahila morcha - T. Vijayalakshmi (Hyderabad); Kisan morcha - Sugunakar Rao (Karimnagar); and Yuva morcha - G. Bhanuprakash Reddy (Chittoor).
