Tiruverambur triumphs
TIRUCHI: Malarmannan scored a brace as Tiruverambur blanked Thuraiyur 3-0 and won the Tiruchi district rural inter-block football tournament title at the Jamal Mohammed College grounds here on Saturday.
Malarmannan scored in the sixth and 17th minute of the match to give Tiruverambur a 2-0 lead. Rajesh netted in the second half.
In another encounter, Vairachettipalayam edged out Manachanallur 1-0 for the third place through Rajesh's goal.
