An evening of Naushad's classical numbers

CHENNAI: In their journey around the orbit of the music of the olden days, the Rooplyners are now transitting at Naushad. The songs of one of the most famous and foremost composers of Hindi filmdom, Naushad, will be the sole repertoire of this dedicated band of musicians on January13.

Scheduled to be held at the Music Academy Mini Hall at 6.30 p.m., the show will feature classical numbers from movies such as Baiju Bawra, Kohinoor, Mughal E'Azam and Mere Mehboob.

Rooplyn regulars such as Surojit Guha and Anand will be joined by others.

Tickets can be got from Pronoti Banerjee, Rooplyn founder, at 28363715, at Landmark or the venue itself on the day of the show from 4.45 p.m.
