Intruder arrested in Mylapore

CHENNAI:
An intruder who entered a house in Mylapore on Friday was nabbed by residents and handed over to the police. According to the police, Shanmugam hailing from a village in Vandavasi taluk of Tiruvannamalai district entered an apartment complex on Karaneeswarar Koil Street at around 5 p.m.
When the residents turned inquisitive, he got down from the first storey and went to the rearside of the complex. He pushed aside a woman cleaning vessels there and entered one of the rooms in the house.
Police said he was rounded up by residents when he tried to remove a couple of suitcases from the flat. The Mylapore police said the person was inconsistent during interrogation and that they planned to admit him to the Institute of Mental Health.
