Four injured as bus driver loses control

CHENNAI: Four persons were injured when an MTC bus went out of control at Saidapet on Saturday.

According to the MTC authorities, at around 11 a.m, the bus (M 7) from Thiruvanmiyur, which was proceeding to T.Nagar, ran out of control near the Panagal Buildings bus stop at Saidapet.

He said the bus first hit a stationary autorickshaw, then a tri-cycle and finally came to a halt after hitting two pedestrians.

Police identified the two seriously injured as Baby (38) and Sasikala (18), who were admitted to a nearby hospital. A two-and-half-year-old child, Priyadarshini and Anandan (18) sustained minor injuries. The Saidapet police arrested the driver and the MTC authorities said that departmental action would be initiated against him.
