HYDERABAD: The Congress Legislature Party has challenged the credentials of TRS leader A. Narendra as a public representative as "he could barely scrape through at Medak with the support of the Congress vote bank in the last elections." Reacting sharply to Mr. Narendra's criticism of the Congress party's stand favouring the second States Reorganisation Commission (SRC), T. Jeevan Reddy, J. Ratnakar Rao and D. Sridhar Babu, said here on Saturday that it would be better if the former stopped using intemperate language against the Congress leaders. The ruling party had not betrayed the people of Telangana in announcing its resolve to seek a second SRC, they said reiterating the party's stand on the issue.
Second SRC
Accusing the TRS of going back on the pre-election understanding on it, they asked: "How did you sign the agreement seeking a second SRC in 2004 ? If the TRS had not gone back on it, some solution could have emerged by now." The CLP members said Mr. Narendra, who could not even win a seat on his own, had no business to talk about stalwarts like Indira Gandhi who had sacrificed her life for the nation.
