Attempt to rape minor: one held

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have arrested a 49-year-old man on the charge of attempting to rape a six-year-old girl. The Kadhinamkulam police identified the accused as Siyad.

The victim and the accused belong to the same community and are neighbours, the police said. Siyad was produced before the court and remanded to 14 days in judicial custody. — Staff Reporter

Youth killed in accident

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 21-year-old youth was killed when the motorbike on which he was travelling collided with another two-wheeler at Kattakada late on Saturday night.

The police identified the deceased as Ratheesh, a resident of Venniyoor.
