Cherukolpuzha Hindu meet from February 4

Head of Pejawar Math, Udupi, to inaugurate

PATHANAMTHITTA: The 95th Cherukolpuzha Hindu religious meet will be held on the sand-bed of the Pampa river at Cherukolpuzha, near Kozhencherry, from February 4 to 11.

Vishvesha Tirtha swami, head of Pejawar Math, Udupi, will inaugurate the annual meet at 2.30 p.m. on February 4, said Hindumatha Maha Mandalam (HMM) president T.N. Upendranatha Kurup and secretary M.P. Sasidharan Nair at a press conference here on Saturday.

V.N. Rajashekharan Pillai, Vice-Chancellor, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), would preside.

Swami Sandeep Chaitanya, director, School of Bhagavad Gita, would deliver a religious discourse on February 5. Swami Prasanthananda and Vedananda Saraswati would also address the meeting.

Swami Nityananda Saraswati would deliver the keynote address on February 6.

Youth meet

Minister for Water Resources N.K. Premachandran would inaugurate a youth meet on February 7.

Bharatiya Vichara Kendram working president C.I. Issac would preside over the function. The Ayyappa Bhakta Sammelan to be held on February 8 would be inaugurated by SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan. Akhila Bharatha Ayyappa Seva Sanghom president Thennala Balakrishna Pillai, MP, would preside.

The Hindu Mathapatasala competitions would be held on February 8. A women's meet will be held in the afternoon.

Swami Chidanandapuri would inaugurate the valedictory meet on February 11. Travancore Devaswom Board president G. Raman Nair would preside.
