Tests on Surendra end

Manas Dasgupta

He was admitted to the civil hospital for routine tests on his blood sugar

GANDHINAGAR: Tests on one of the suspects in the Noida killings, Surendra Koli, ended at the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) here on Monday.

FSL director J.M. Vyas said the narco-analysis of prime accused Moninder Singh Pandher may be taken up on Tuesday depending on his health condition.

Pandher was taken again to the civil hospital here at night for a check-up of his blood sugar. He was admitted to the hospital on Sunday night after he complained of chest pain, but released on Monday morning.

Sources in the FSL, however, said he was not subjected to any tests on Monday as both lie detector and brain fingerprinting tests on the two were completed by Sunday.

Mr. Vyas said both Pandher and Surendra Koli fully cooperated during the tests. Koli's narco-analysis began at about 1 p.m. on Monday and continued for about seven hours.

Asked whether the tests revealed any indication of their involvement in the serial murders, Mr. Vyas said it was too early to arrive at any conclusion. After all the tests were completed on the two, the FSL would begin data analysis and interpretations of the data collected from them to come to any conclusion.

The FSL report is likely to be sent in a sealed envelope to the Director-General of the Uttar Pradesh police unless directed otherwise.

As per the procedures, the "facts" revealed by Surendra Koli during his narco-analysis tests on Monday were likely to be put to Pandher during his tests on Tuesday for confirmation of their alleged involvement in the serial killings. Tuesday is likely to be the last day of their current round of tests at the FSL here as their police remand expires in the evening and they might have to be produced in the court for further remand.
