BANGALORE: Police teams from Jammu and Kashmir and Maharashtra will come to Bangalore on Wednesday to assist the city police, who have arrested a suspected terrorist, Imran Jalal, in the investigations.

The sources in the city police told The Hindu on Tuesday that Imran had not revealed any thing significant during interrogation other than that he was asked by his handlers in Pakistan to survey the security system at the Bangalore airport and the facilities of the IT Majors, Infosys and Wipro.

Interrogation of Imran by the Jammu and Kashmir and Maharashtra police might provide some new leads for investigation. The two teams are expected to arrive here on Wednesday, the sources said.

Investigation of the student life of Imran, who had studied at a private polytechnic in Peenya here for three years in the early Nineties, has indicated that he had not indulged in any unlawful activities then, the sources said.

Even during his stay in Hospet and Hampi in Bellary district, Imran had conducted himself as a Good Samaritan by helping people in need. He had also settled petty disputes among his neighbours. Senior police officials from the city and the Corps of Detectives held a meeting here to discus the future course of the investigation. Officers also reportedly reviewed the progress of the investigation of the terrorist attack on the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy said here on Tuesday that his Government was ready to provide any facilities to the police to combat terrorism.
