Pilots set record

DALLAS: Two British helicopter pilots on a record-seeking journey to fly around the world by way of the poles have reached the South Pole three days ahead of schedule, a spokeswoman for the duo said on Monday. Reaching the South Pole on Sunday marked a milestone for Jennifer Murray and Colin Bodill, both of whom were seriously hurt in 2003 when they crashed in Antarctica while trying to set the same record. Ms. Murray (66), and Mr. Bodill (55), have travelled more than 16,090 km since leaving Fort Worth, Texas, on December 5. — AP
