Corrections and Clarifications

* A report on Microsoft's new products has appeared on two pages on January 9, 2007. The Xinhua report ("Microsoft unveils slew of new products") was used on the Business page, while Anand Parthasarathy's despatch ("A software clearing house for family") appeared on another page. The duplication was discovered and could be corrected only for some late editions.

* In the report "Centre blames it on Supreme Court orders" (January 6, 2007), the plural should have been Attorneys General (and not Attorney Generals), Solicitors General (and not Solicitor Generals), and Additional Solicitors General (and not Additional Solicitor Generals).

* A few sports page corrections. A report "Mohan Bagan takes on HASC" (January 6, 2007) stated that Karnataka left-arm spinner K.P. Appanna will represent the India under-19 cricket team to tour New Zealand and Malaysia. The Sports Desk clarifies that Appanna is in the under-19 team only for the tour of New Zealand. For the Malaysian tour, Swapnil will take his place.

{gt}In "Andhra takes honours" ("Briefly", January 9, 2007), on the KSCA South Zone under-13 cricket tournament at Bangalore, the second innings score of Goa should have been 93 all out.

{gt}In the Makarand Waingankar column "The Indians faltered on a pitch that suited them" (January 9, 2007), the number of outright wins scored by Baroda so far in this Ranji season is four, and not three as mentioned.
