Monisha wins title

KOZHIKODE: Kiran Monisha Mohanty won the National under-17 girls' chess title with a round to spare here on Tuesday. She drew with S. Harini in the eighth round, taking her tally to 7.5 points, 1.5 points ahead of P. Uthra and Bhakti Kulkarni, who are in the second place.

The boys' event though is poised for exciting finish, with three players, R. Premanth, D. Sai Srinivas and M.R. Lalilth Babu, in the lead position with 6.5 points apiece.
