Southern Railway to run special trains

To clear the rush of passengers during Pongal and Makaravilakku festivals

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Southern Railway is running special trains to clear the rush of passengers during the Pongal and Makaravilakku festivals. The following are the trains:

Train No.0632 Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai Central Special will leave Thiruvananthapuram at 20.00 hours on 12/1/07, 15/1/07 and 17/1/07 and arrive at Chennai Central at 12.15 hrs the next day.

The trains will stop at Varkala, Kolam, Kayamkulam, Mavelikara, Chenagannur, Thiruvalla, Chenganassery, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrissur, Ottappalam, Palakkad, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Arakkonam and Perambur.

Train No.0628 Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai Central Special will leave Thiruvananthapuram at 10.30 hours on January 14 and arrive at Chennai Central at 04.00 hours the next day.

The trains will stop at Varkala, Kollam, Kayamkulam, Mavelikara, Chenagannur, Thiruvalla, Chenganassery, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrissur, Ottappalam, Palakkad, Erode, Salem Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Arakkonam and Perambur.

Train No.0620 Nagercoil-Chennai Egmore Special will leave Nagercoil at 20.30 hours on January 10, 12 and 16 and arrive at Chennai Egmore at 09.30 hours the next day.

The train will stop at Tirunelveli, Vanchi-Maniyachchi, Kovilpatti, Satur, Virudunagar, Madurai, Dindigal, Tiruchchirappalli Jn., Vridhachalam, Villupuram, Tindivanam, Chengalpattu, Tambaram and Mambalam.

Train No. 0618 Nagercoil-Chennai Egmore Special will leave Nagercoil at 13.30 hours on January 14 and arrive at Chennai Egmore at 04.30 hours the next day. The train will stop at Tirunelveli, Vanchi-Maniyachchi, Kovilpatti, Satur, Virudunagar, Madurai, Dindigal, Tiruchchirappalli Jn., Vridhachalam, Villupuram, Tindivanam, Chengalpattu, Tambaram and Mambalam.

Train No.0616 Nagercoil-Chennai Egmore Special will leave Nagercoil at 13.30 hours on January 11, 15, and 17 and arrive at Chennai Egmore at 04.30 hours the next day. The train will stop at Tirunelveli, Vanchi-Maniyachchi, Kovilpatti, Satur, Virudunagar, Madurai, Dindigal, Tiruchchirappalli Jn., Vridhachalam, Villupuram, Tindivanam, Chengalpattu, Tambaram and Mambalam.

Regulation of service

In order to undertake urgent engineering work in between Nagercoil and Kanniyakumari, the train service between Nagercoil and Kanniyakumari will be cancelled from 11.00 hrs to 17.00 hours on January 11.

On the day, Train No.1081 Mumbai-Kanyakumari express will be cancelled between Nagercoil and Kanyakumari.

Train No.392 Kanyakumari-Nagercoil Passenger and Train 395 Nagercoil-Kanyakumari Passenger are cancelled on 11/1/07 (Thursday).
