RECALLING THE PAST: Joint Collector C. Anita Rajendra watching photos at a DAVP exhibition on India's freedom struggle at Anantapur on Tuesday.
ANANTAPUR: Zilla Parishad Chairperson T. Kavitha on Tuesday said that it was the responsibility of all to work towards achieving the ideals of great leaders of the country who had laid down their down lives in freeing the country from the shackles of British rulers. Speaking at the valedictory function of a weeklong photo exhibition organised by the Directorate of Audio Visual Publicity of the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting here on the theme of "India's Freedom Struggle", she said the exhibition had provided an opportunity to the present generation to know about the leaders who had sacrificed everything for the country.
150 years of Mutiny
The exhibition was organised to commemorate the 150 years of the first independence struggle (Sepoy Mutiny of 1857) and 60 years of Independence, Field Publicity Officer M. Sirajuddin said. The exhibition would be held in Dharmavaram from January 12. Joint Collector C. Anita Rajendra, Superintendent of General Hospital E.A. Santosha Kumariand others complimented the efforts of DAVP in presenting the past to the present generations.
