Shashidhar takes umbrage over protocol

HYDERABAD: Member of the National Disaster Management Authority, M. Shashidhar Reddy, has cautioned the State Government against downgrading the protocol for him as it might set a precedent for Centre-State confrontation.

Reacting to a letter he received from the Chief Secretary sometime ago indicating that the protocol given to him - who holds the rank of Union Minister of State - could be downgraded, he said it would not send the right signals.

"It is obvious that this is being done under political pressure," he said.
