Metro staff killed in road mishap

NEW DELHI:
A Delhi Metro Rail Corporation employee was killed and three were injured in a road accident near Kashmere Gate here on Tuesday. The accident took place in the early hours of the morning when the mini-truck in which they were travelling was hit by another vehicle.
A. K. Sahu, a track maintainer, died on the spot, while one of the injured employees was hospitalised. Two others were discharged after first aid.
Sahu, 24, hailed from Jajpur district of Orissa.
The DMRC employees were returning in a mini-truck after completing maintenance work at Delhi Vishwa Vidyalaya station when their vehicle was hit by another mini-truck at 3-42 a.m.
DMRC Managing Director E. Sreedharan visited the injured in hospital and also met the family of the deceased.
